What does it mean to hope in God, to believe with Abraham the promise that we will be blessed as His people? If you are continuing to think through the implications of last Sunday’s text, Hebrews 6:13-20, perhaps these are questions you continue to grapple with.
Here are two articles that may be helpful in thinking through this. First, a helpful article that points out one example of a false hope – indeed, a false gospel. Second, here is an article describing the current plight of Christians in Egypt and demonstrating the robust strength of hope in the true gospel, and the sometimes surprising nature of being blessed.
I encourage you to read both, and as you flee to Christ for refuge (Hebrews 6:18), consider and cling to the hope that you have in Christ. Hold fast and don’t let go, and make sure you’re holding the right rope, because the true hope is also an anchor (Hebrews 6:19).
